I Demand some Compensation for this **** up. For the people that are not tech minded then a total rebuild is required for them, those who know how to repair the boot file its still not a situation one should be in.
I have only just read the announcement at 11:30am and i'm at work so I donÆt know if my PC will be affected. Either way CCP should offer some sort of compensation either by giving a free month sup or something in game.

In my job if we gave a PC build out to a customer with something as Serious as this you can bet that heads would roll and we would have to ensure that our customer was fully compensated for the Inconvenience.

I always had an image in my mind that these CompanyÆs that run the MMORPGs where of a very professional standard and that the free online ones where just little 2bit setups.
This Sort of frak up would be something I would expect to get if I had downloaded one of those free MMORPGs from a 2bit company, and I would just think to my self that I deserved it as itÆs free for a reason.
But EVE online with its 200,000 user base (something like 3 million euros a month) has just in my books dropped below the rankings of a 2bit company.
I seriously think that CCP should do some sort of Good will gesture and I donÆt mean a couple of days free play.
Their are thousands of users out their that are just not technical enough to understand boot.ini and restores even with a well meaning post on how to do it( I should know as I have banged my head against the wall several times trying to explain simple tasks to end users ). And their are even more users out their that donÆt know what has happened to their PC and donÆt have any other access to the internet, leaving them to proberly try and do a full install formatting their entire drive.
Can you imagine if World of Warcraft had done this with their 3 million subscribers? Obviously they are one of the professional companyÆs.

I guess that key CCP staff are all running about with their thumbs up there collective A55es pointing their fingers at each other right now saying that it wasnÆt their teams fault.
Seems like this thread is the only place that i cant vent my fustration. and belive me its helping a great deal.

When you guys figure out who will be the scapegoat, can you please make sure that his ingame charactor is made to have a negative standing with everyplayer in EVE, So when we see him we can all vent our anger at him.

Today is a great day to upgrade to MS Vista :D
Lucky vista Owners with their 30% slower OS, ill stick with my Crappy 30% Faster XP. its a little sacrifice.
So any idea when we get to go to the public hanging of the Dev Team for this one.

CCP can we get a transcript or video of the conversation with the programmers and their boss over this issue. im sure it will make very entertaining reading. maybe see if you can get something up on youtube.

People should be comming home from work soon to play Eve this Evening so i can guess this will only get nasty from here onwards and into tomorrow.
This has goto be one of the fastest growing threads in history,
Ill be telling my kids in years to come " I was there during the Great CCP Frakup"

Im Still Running the Pre 4am Upgrade patch and i have restarted my PC several Times, then Again I did Have the Sence to install EVE onto a completly different hard drive.
Boy was I lucky
